About W.H.E.E.L.

Our Mission:
To improve the social, educational, health, and economic status of people across Jamaica by investing resources gained through local and international partnerships.
Our Vision:
Lives and communities transformed, empowered to access opportunities for self-reliance, skills development, and wholistic wellness.
The W.H.E.E.L. (Welfare, Health, Education, Empowerment and Local Community) Fund is organised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church Central Jamaica Conference to help meet the high level of demand for welfare and other local church needs. Over the years, the Conference and local churches have attempted to meet requests relating to welfare, education and health using an ad hoc approach. These requests often exceed what the Covenant Offering can accomplish.

W.H.E.E.L. is, therefore, established to address these needs in a more organised manner by tapping into the ‘gift-giving’ source of income and taking advantage of the combined effort of each member of the church. As such, besides the tithe and covenant offering contributions, the Conference is asking each member to make a small but consistent contribution towards the W.H.E.E.L. fund on either a weekly or monthly basis. The idea is that, with this united approach, the Church will be able to do more than any of its single entities (Church or Conference) towards meeting its welfare needs.
“And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2:44-47
